A closed chapter
It's strange how sometimes the darkest of events truly are blessings in disguise. I guess you can say it's kind of like a hidden gift, or kind of the light at the end of the tunnel, or even that little bit of hope that was found in Pandora's box. Okay, so I did overdo it with the Pandora's box (lol), but in all seriousness sometimes we need to go through the pain to grow as people. When I was a little girl it never made sense to me why people went through pain, and why people had to die if there was a God. This is something I just couldn't grasp. As a child life's injustices would bring me to tears. I just couldn't understand why God would allow good people to go through such misery. If he was so great why did God allow the good people to suffer? As I got older life taught me these lessons.
There are things we need to experience, that in time will make us all wiser and stronger. Those people who are in our lives now probably won't be 5 years from now. Those people who you loved so much and would die for, won't remember all the times you've shared together or that you even exist. And then sadly there are those good people who just seem to drift with time. There are many things in life I had to learn the hard way and yes, I've lost some good people in my life who I really miss. Thank God they're physically okay, but at the present time all that's left are memories.
I've had a lot of time to reflect on every aspect of my life and it's crazy how sometimes you don't realize how much you've grown up. Those things I've always said I'd never do - I did. Some good, some bad. However, I can't ever sit here and say I regret any of it. Why should I? I came out of the situation okay and in the end I was taught a lesson. The next time around, I should know better...right? Hey, we're human. Sometimes we need to be kicked in the butt, but hopefully we're given another shot the second time around.
Deep down we're all the same. We all hurt, we all want to be loved, we're all afraid of failure and rejection. It's not rocket science, we've all just learned to disguise our weaknesses in different ways. Some of us hide them by being the cockiest of them all. Some of us chose to hide it by being rebels, while others chose to simply not to show any affection. It's all a cover up. Our core is all the same, and that's what it really boils down to. This is why I try so hard to understand people and pay attention to their upbringing. It really does say a lot about who you are.
Sometimes we need to be let down, we need to get hurt. Rude awakenings are wake up calls. It's kind of God's way of saying you've been given that second chance to try again - now stop being naive and take that bad and turn it into something good. Remember, you're only givin one shot to live life, so make the best of it. Ever heard the expression If life gives you lemons, make lemonade? That's the kind of energy we should be giving off when stuck in a rut. While we may want to cry our eyes out - it won't do us any good to drown in our own tears. Deal with it and learn to move on. Life's lessons are the best lessons. These are the ones you can't be taught. You must learn by good old trial and error.

Rihanna finally talks about what happened
Since the altercation with Chris and Riri everything has been pretty much been kept under wraps, with very few slipping through the cracks. Both Chris and Rihanna have managed to dodge trick questions and reports overall...until now.
For the first time since the incident Rihanna is going to speak about what exactly happened that February night while in the car with then boyfriend-Chris Brown. Make sure to check out Good Morning America on Thursday November 5th at 7am to hear her side of the story. The following day she'll also be on 20/20 at 9pm for a second interview.

Trick-o-treat!
It's finally the 31st of October...the holiday most of us all anticipate (other than Thanksgiving & Christmas)! I have to admit that I was very animated last night, lol. However, my spirits have died down a bit. After work I went to Ricki's and there was a line OUT THE DOOR - it was pure chaos, lol. I ended buying a costume for the first time since I'd say....1996? LOL. I've got a feeling I might just hang it up for next year though, lol. I might end up catching a movie or doing dinner. We'll see where the day takes me...While, I'm still trying to get into the whole Halloween spirit please remember to be very careful out there tonight. Do your trick-o-treating with the kids early and for those of you going out tonight - play safe!
Happy Halloween everyone ;)

Why lazy men don't get laid as much

As I am skimming through a few articles online I came across a study that many of the ladies would agree with. According to studies men who help around the house tend to get laid more than a man who's less helpful with household chores.
While some men might say, this is complete BS, I have to agree on this one. We love to please our men in any way possible, but after a hard day's work...we're just as tired as you are. It wouldn't hurt to have the house picked up or the food prepared once in a while.
Rumor has it that how neat a person is, says something about your morale. One study shows a dramatic improvement in a persons behavior when in a room with a pleasant aroma. When we're in a cleaner environment we're naturally a lot more easygoing and positive towards things. To make a long story short, cleaner men will have better attitudes.
So gentleman...the next time you're wondering how sitting on the couch with that remote pressed the wrong buttons and made your lady go BANANAS...take a wild guess. She could just be exhausted and looking to get a little tender loving care. If it absolutely kills you to help around the house, you'd better cut back on TV time and start making dinner reservations! I promise, the makeup is always GREAT!

Next week is World Stroke Day.
Back in 2006, October 29th was declared World Stroke Day. It was created in order to raise awareness and show people how to prevent and treat this cardiovascular disease.
Did you know that strokes are the 3rd leading cause of death in this country? Back in 2005, 143,579 people were killed because of this. Leading symptoms of a stroke are:
♦Feeling weak or numb on one side of your body
♦Difficulty speaking or understanding
♦Visually impaired
♦Dizziness or a lost of coordination and
♦Severe headaches.
While many of us do experience these as a result of stress, It's highly recommended getting yourself checked out by your personal doctor, if you've experienced any of the above symptoms. For more info on World Stroke Day and how you can contribute to the cause, click here.

New Music
Seems a lot of the songs out this week all have piano instrumentals in the background - I'm a sucker for the piano, so I love it already! Make sure to check it out and let me know what you think.
I haven't heard the entire Chris Brown song but I must admit that the intro sounds pretty good. Toni Braxton's new track's also dope! Check 'em out at the bottom of the page!
